GameTier# PlaysNotes
DominionS+500+My favorite game, each play is unique and it’s perfectly strategic. Best as 1v1 played on dominion.games, irl takes way longer
Brass BirminghamS+3#1 on BGG for a reason, great ratio of strategy + tactics + player interaction
SigilS10+A bit like chess/go but easier to pick up, best played with a chess timer
Race for the GalaxyS8Best tableau builder, pure and tight. Art leaves a lot to be desired though
Terraforming MarsS4Great engine builder, lots of mechanics and stuff going on but it ties together well. Sort of “multiplayer solitaire” but I personally don’t mind
HegemonyS2Really fun asymmetric economic/political game, pretty unique
AgricolaA+2Best classic worker placement game
El GrandeA+1The best proper area control game
The Old King’s CrownA+0.5Awaiting a full playthrough but the art is great and very cool combat mechanics
Crew: Mission Deep SeaA10+Fun quick cooperative trick-taking, not a primary game though usually just a few quick rounds
Spirit IslandA4Really good game but takes too long and not as satisfying as competitive games
Pax PamirA2Cool and very unique, feels a bit random but might just need more plays to grasp the strategy
GudnakA1Really cool just takes a while to set up decks and if your deck is bad you’re cooked, cool that it suppoed 3p/4p but is a bit too chaotic
Dune ImperiumB5Used to be my group’s favorite game but takes a really long time and is too RNG due to intrigues
Tyrants of the UnderdarkB4Combines deckbuilding and area control, two amazing mechanics, but execution/balance is lackluster
AzulB4Simple but surprisingly strategic with super direct player interaction
ScytheB3Liked it at first you can do some planning and engine but the board barely matters and too much going on, scoring medley
7 WondersC7Quick and fun + scales to higher player counts, very tactical rather than strategic though
DecorumC6Best at 2p played with a partner
5-Minute DungeonC5Fun fast-paced cooperative game, easy to pick up for people that don’t play games
Blood RageC3Fun with lots of combat + interaction but scoring is swingy and feels like it doesn’t match how the game is actually going
ViticultureC2Everyone is kind of doing the same thing / has the same strategy
EschatonC1Another deckbuilding + area control but not very balanced/polished, great art
OathC1Great art and cool mechanics but too random for how long it takes / how complicated it is
GizmosC1More casual
